Palmwood Center for Psychological Services P.A.:Located in Sunrise Florida, we are a group of Licensed Psychologists who have been providing comprehensive psychological services to a diversified patient population since 1989. We will treat and help restore optimal functioning in you through psychotherapy. We will also help motivate you if you are stuck in negative cycles that are holding you back from achieving the goals that you have set for yourself. This process will then lead to you achieving more satisfying life experiences. Issues that cause our patients to have trouble moving forward include their inability to alter their home or work situations on their own or are people who have not been able to find the type of support and help we offer to restore balance in their lives.
Marlene Gray, Psy.D. : Dr. Gray has been treating patients in her practice since 1989. She is a Licensed Psychologist who has been providing services to patients who are being treated on both an outpatient and inpatient basis and has held privileges at a number of local hospitals for many years. The services that she provides includes psychological assessment and testing in addition to the treatment of mental and emotional disorders, family problems or adjustment issues. She also provides pre-surgical assessments and treatment of patients who are considering undergoing weight reduction surgery. Dr. Gray treats patients who suffer from depression, anxiety, marital difficulties or difficulty adjusting to life after a major trauma. She oftentimes incorporates Hypnosis and Relaxation techniques in psychotherapy to help with pain reduction. She also performs evaluations on patients preparing to undergo organ transplantation or implantation of a spinal cord stimulator used to offset intractable pain. Her treatment protocols include providing psychotherapy that incorporates cognitive behavioral and supportive techniques. Dr. Gray’s services are covered by her patients health insurance plans.
Dr. Gray received her Doctor of Psychology degree (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale. She completed her Internship at the Children’s Psychiatric Center in Miami, Florida.
Alec Roth, Ph.D.: Dr. Roth is a Licensed Psychologist who specializes in neuropsychology, general psychological testing and psychotherapy. His neuropsychology practice focuses on providing diagnostic assessments and treatment of individuals with known or suspected brain injuries, problems occurring secondary to a stroke or chronic brain related illnesses. He also provides supportive psychotherapy to those patients families. He has also been providing psychological care to patients suffering from dementias such as Alzheimer’s disease, traumatic brain injuries, Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease and other brain related conditions. Dr. Roth also provides supportive and cognitive behavioral therapy for patients suffering from depression, anxiety, adjustment to illness or family related issues.
Jonathan Pearlson, Psy.D.: Dr. Pearlson joined our practice earlier this year. He is a Licensed Psychologist who specializes in neuropsychology, general psychological testing and psychotherapy. In his neuropsychology and psychological testing practice, Dr. Pearlson works with children (6 to 12), adolescents (13 to 17), adults (18 to 65 and older adults (65 and above). His provides assessment services that include determining if a patient is suffering from dementia, determining if and how a patient is dealing with a closed head injury, memory disorders, movement disorders such as Parkinson’s Disease, concussions, Multiple Sclerosis, Strokes, Cancer of the Brain or other cognitive impairments. He tests and provides assistance garnering accommodations when necessary for younger patients seeking gifted placement, dealing with attention deficits, learning disabilities as well as providing them with psychotherapy for emotional or behavioral problems. Dr. Pearlson also conducts evaluations for patients who are seeking Social Security Disability or for those receiving services from the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation. He has worked extensively with members of our Military Forces. Dr. Pearlson’s services are covered by his patients health insurance programs.
Dr. Pearlson completed his clinical psychology training at Nova Southeastern University where he was granted a Doctor of Psychology degree (Psy.D.) in 2013. He completed his pre-doctoral Internship at the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center. He then completed a two year postdoctoral neuropsychology Fellowship at the VA Maine Health Care System in 2015.
